Bayshore Christian Ministries had another exciting year of growth! We thank God for the opportunity to plant seeds of hope in more than 400 youth in our community. This year, staff and dozens of volunteers tutored, mentored, read to, and shared the Gospel with students so they would gain new skills and grow in faith. As a result, we were blessed to witness many youth improve and gain confidence in their academics. In addition, we saw several more take initial steps of faith by accepting Jesus in their hearts.
Support from new funding partners allowed BCM to pilot two new technology programs and expand our Summer Bible Club outreach. As a first step in offering a technology program for teens, we convened and hosted the EPA Chica Squad, a group of local high school girls who participated in the Technovation Challenge, a global mobile phone app design competition. The team finished well and placed in the top 20 out of 114 teams from 19 countries! This summer, we piloted another tech program called GameOn, a web-based, game design program which improves critical thinking skills in middle school students. As I mentioned above, we also expanded our Summer Bible Club Outreach, hiring four local high school interns, who completed Child Evangelism Fellowship training before co-leading the five-day Bible clubs.
This impact report is a brief glimpse into how God is at work through Bayshore Christian Ministries. Your prayers, gifts and time make the scope of this work possible. Thank you for supporting BCM. Together, we can keep planting and watering as God does the growing!
